GRB has been a Blue Archer client for over 10 years. After determining that it was time for a website redesign during one of our account reviews, we were excited to get started on a fresh look for the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia law firm.
In such a saturated industry, firm websites can all start to look the same. From the trite stock photography of gavels and hand shakes to routine attorney bio pages, there is a lot of room for improvement for most law firm websites. GRB Law came back to Blue Archer for a website refresh when the existing website was no longer meeting their evolving needs. The biggest challenge for this project was modernizing the design without losing emphasis on the firm's 100+ year history.
The new website is a modern twist on GRB Law's long-standing tradition of expertise. Highlighting the strength of their team, the GRB Law website includes dynamic, engaging attorney bio pages that encourage website visitors to explore expertise, read related articles, and download attorney Vcards. Custom mega menus, a comprehensive resource section, and intuitive site search round out the strategic functionality updates.
For a lot of law firms, it can be a challenge to organize all of the service content in a way that makes sense for prospective clients. Many clients don’t talk about the services in the same ways as traditional law firms. The website information architecture needed to bridge that gap by communicating important service details through intuitive categorization. Ultimately we decided that a more dynamic mega menu approach would work best for GRB’s prospective clients. It would enable website visitors to view practice area details within each law group before clicking through to learn more. This not only decreases the use of the back button on the site, but more importantly it ensures users have appropriate context for every action they take on the site so they can locate the information they are looking for quickly and effectively. We completed the mega menu with engaging imagery and optional calls-to-action to view related resources or articles.
"Having used Blue Archer for years, we already knew and trusted them well, and in return they knew us just the same. We believe in building strong relationships with our clients and vendors, and Blue Archer is no exception. It's a relief to know that we have a web company that keeps our best interest in mind, shares ideas and checks in to make sure that our needs are always met!"

GRB Law has been around for over 100 years. That’s a lot of history and a lot of experience. The new design needed not only to honor the long standing tradition of the firm but also communicate their business values in the modern age. GRB’s brand is energetic, professional, and dynamic. They wanted to be seen as a firm with a strong foundation of solid work and relationships that is also up on the latest developments. For that reason, our design team took a layered approach. Strong lines, professional photography, and serif heading fonts all emphasize GRB’s long standing tradition of excellence.
Most law firm websites have attorney bios. But for GRB this was an especially important section on the site, so we wanted to create an experience where website visitors could do more than just read a short biography. Our designers and programmers worked together to create an engaging listing page that enables users to search by practice area, location, alphabetical order, or simply scroll through images of the attorneys. If a user clicks on an attorney, they are taken to a bio details page where they can see a large image, quick contact information, location, education, areas of expertise, a categorized biography, awards, and even resources or articles written by that particular attorney. With this approach, website users get a full, comprehensive look at the attorney.
One of GRB’s major website goals was to communicate their thought leadership and industry-leading experience. We built out a custom news and insights module to house resources including presentations, articles, infographics, firm news, and more. Users can filter by topic, resource type, attorney author, practice group, or industry. The module is complete with attorney spotlights to encourage users to get to know the team of attorneys.
The resulting website redesign is fresh, dynamic, and modern. We’ve been working with GRB Law for almost 15 years, and we look forward to continuing to support their evolving business needs in the future with ongoing design and functionality improvements.
