Sony, Moving Forward
After experiencing massive losses and taking big write-downs related to restructuring, Sony has turned its focus to more profitable areas including image sensors for smartphone cameras, games, music and movies. The company is splitting itself into self-operating units, while forecasting a bold $4.2 billion in operating profits in three years. Sony has decided to sell its laptop business, sell its Manhattan office, and cut 1,100 jobs, all in an ambitious effort to come out of the red.
Smart Security with Windows 10
There is an exciting buzz around a sneak preview of Microsoft 10, with special attention paid to their new distinct security protocols. Given the massive harm that cyber hackers have caused Sony, Microsoft has made it a point to really hone in on their personal identification security measures. Their hard work resonates in the multi-factor verification system. The basic principal of the system is that it receives identification upon two accounts: something you know and something you have. The something you know would be some kind of credential like a pin or fingerprint, and the something you have refers to your piece of hardware. So ultimately, the hacker would have to be on your personal computer in order to hack into personal information, rather than accessing the information on a cloud.
