Pay Per Click ads can be strategic assets to many keyword and internet marketing campaigns. However, these PPC initiatives come at a cost (this should shock few, seeing as the word pay is indeed within the name).  That is why-whenever possible - business owners and site marketers want to cut down on this cost as much as possible.

One way to do this is to exclude your IP address from AdWord campaigns.  So, how will this help cut down on costs?

Well, blocking an IP address from specific campaigns within your AdWords account means that the ads will no longer appear on the specified computer or network of computers. This can be extremely beneficial for the following reasons:

  • You can block your competitors so they are not fraudulently clicking on your ads for the sole purpose of costing you money. Trust us; there are people out there that will actually allocate time to this dishonest practice. Don't become a victim.
  • If competitors do not see your ads, they will not be able to analyze your ad copy strategy. This is pure stealth, people. Under-the-radar-marketing-glory.
  • It will eliminate the possibility of clicks from either you or your employees who search the business and click on the paid search result before the organic search result accidentally. Seriously, Kathy in HR clicked your own ad  again? Problem averted.
