Their design-manufacture-construct model provides the competitive advantage of reducing project risk by having all 3 functions in-house. They needed a website that would position them as industry leaders in the East Coast market for GFRC design and fabrication.
Building Blocks is dedicated to building smart solutions in relationships, culture, company and buildings. The website needed to act as an extension of that promise. While Building Blocks came to us with the respect of their industry constituents, they knew they needed to present themselves as the best of the best in order to continue to grow profits and increase revenue. One of the biggest challenges was determining the best way to establish clarity around the offerings since Building Blocks is both a manufacturer and construction company.
The website positions Building Blocks as the premium solution for prefabricated GFRC panels. Customers come to the site looking for expertise in design, manufacturing and construction. The new homepage clearly establishes the 3 major systems - GFRC, UHPC and Glass. It also prioritizes the project portfolio in order to reiterate credibility among prospective clients. The website clearly answers the question “How do you work?” with clear iconography and messaging that establishes Building Blocks’ unique approach to building enclosures.
Together, we explored the high-end commercial sectors including multi-family residential, office, institutional and healthcare. The website needed to speak to architects, construction managers, contractors and owners. We knew website users would be exploring the site to determine if Building Blocks is a trustworthy company that would meet their schedule demands, stay on budget, and provide the necessary capabilities. This insight informed the creation of the website information architecture, intuitive sitemap, and initial prototypes.
Building Blocks came to us with an established visual brand board. Complete with a bold red and complimentary black and grays, the design feel would position Building Blocks as cutting edge, creative, and highly qualified. The resulting website design is modern, bright, and focuses on interesting typography elements. With striking imagery and ample negative space, the design is contemporary but timeless.
The website’s content management functionality provide ease of maintenance for the internal admin team, ensuring the Building Blocks team can easily add and modify content over time. The portfolio module allows Building Blocks team members to quickly add new projects that highlight impressive clients. Our team also designed custom internal page template sections to help support the high-end design and enable site managers to populate unique content across the pages. Intuitive front-end features like a new and insights module and modern hamburger menu make for an equally intuitive site user experience for site visitors.
