Posts will no longer appear in chronological order and instead be sorted “based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting, and the timeliness of the post.

Instagram will be similar to Facebook in terms of how the algorithm functions. So, why are brands panicking? Aren't they also successful on Facebook?
- Organic reach may be difficult which will steer brands towards paid advertising.
- Engagement will be king.
- You will see less spammy accounts.
Overcoming The Challenge
Once the above information is laid out, the change really does not see that bad if you have a quality account. Like Google, Instagram is pushing towards engaging content. Brands that just try to get followers will no longer be tolerated.
What can you do to get prioritized on your customers' feed?
- Enage: Receiving engagement means also engaging with your customers. Social media should be used to have conversations and build a sense of community.
- Eye Catching Images: As always, make sure your content is interesting and eye catching.
- You may want to analyze your account to see what images respond best with your audience.
