The Microsoft Migration
Integrated cloud services put Windows Server 2003 R2 in it’s grave on July 14, showing that the flexibility of digital storage is redefining the role of the computer. So if you have been pondering on if you should switch to a cloud database, now is the time to start thinking about how to. Migrating your Microsoft infrastructure is the chance to familiarize yourself with modern technology easily. Three important questions to keep in mind when you plan to migrate are:
What are the cloud options available on demand?
- Total flexibility, alignment with your trades standards, maintenance and management of resources…
Will I reduce my cost and complexity of my infrastructure?
- The cloud has a number of innovations to solve these problems.
Finally, will I be able to deploy a faster response to the trades?
- This is the most important point: the transformation of your data center you must tend towards more speed to deliver your services internally.
Adapting to changing technology is intimidating, but as more and more database computing conforms to hybridity, it is important to stay on top of this trend, because computers are not necessarily going to exist in physical form much longer.

A Growing Industry for Consumer Electronics
The consumer electronics (CE) landscape is being redefined by the consumer demand for emerging technology according to the semi-annual industry report released today by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). Retail revenues are projected to grow 2.4% in 2015. This forecast is a reflection of constant and continuous innovation. As per most markets, the tech industry is a constant ebb and flow, but a new class of tech is generating enthusiasm among consumers.
Two significant emerging categories that are driving this industry upward are smart home, health and fitness technology. Technology is not being used for just entertainment anymore, but for lifestyle. Here is a description of the stand out products:
- Health and fitness technology: Led by the popularity of activity tracking devices, health and fitness devices will lead unit sales among all wearables in 2015 with a projected 20.3 million units (a 21 percent increase from last year), with revenue reaching $1.8 billion in 2015 (an 18 percent increase year-over-year).
- Connected Home Technologies: Including smart thermostats, smart smoke detectors, IP cameras, smart home systems, smart locks, connected switches, dimmers and outlets, the booming connected home technology industry is expected to reach $967 million in revenue in 2015, jumping 32 percent over last year.
- Drones: CEA market research expects 2015 to be a defining year for drones, with the category ideally positioned for steady growth. According to CEA projections, the U.S. market will approach $105 million in revenue in 2015 (increasing by more than 52 percent from 2014) with unit sales expected to approach 700,000, an increase of 63 percent.

Facebook, The News Dictator
When the infamous social site, Facebook, was first launched it quickly became a popular platform to help us chat and cyber-stalk friends. Nowadays, it commands a huge share of mobile advertising, and increasingly has become the arbiter of information.
New research indicates that the social network’s hold on how we find news is continuing to grow- the Pew Research Center with the Knight Foundation. Facebook’s News Feed uses an algorithm to select the posts it thinks you’re most likely to read. In a survey of 2,035 social media users, Pew found that 63% of Facebook users say they use their accounts to find and read articles.
