You may have noticed a new button as you were catching up on Twitter today titled "Collections". Though still in beta, Twitter released two new features to merge the social and online shopping experience.
Product Page
Twitter product pages allow the site-user to create a sharable post that will give people the ability to purchase a product.
How Does It Work?
It is simple. First, you will see the tweet just as you would any other, but when you click on this one you will be redirected to a page with a call-to-action button.
While some products have the option to go directly to the website, others have the beta tested Twitter "Buy" button or the ability to book.
What's Included?
When you develop a product page you may add items to capture your audiences' attention such as:
- Images
- Video
- Description
- Price
- An option to buy, book, or visit the website for more information
Product Collections
In addition to the product page, companies are going to be able to tweet entire collections. Basically, this is a collection of product pages.
If a Twitter user clicks on a collection, they are brought to a list of product pages that looks similar to a news feed.
In the collection, you can browser products and click on ones you want to
Can I Do It?
Can you have a product collection or even a single product page? While this is currently being tested by a small group of users, Twitter did post documentation on their blog.
