Yes: simple as that. We like wefollow.
We're not in love with it; it doesn't include the fantastic analytics or capabilities we wish it did. However, for what it claims to do, we think it does pretty well.
Sorting Twitter Accounts
Acting as an organized Twitter directory, it effectively sorts Twitter accounts into specific categories so it is easier to find accounts within a specified industry or topic. Wefollow is a great resource for avid, tweeting businesses on the web because it makes finding other accounts (and other accounts finding YOU) straightforward and simple.
Knowing which accounts in your industry have the most followers (authority) can help you wisely choose which account's updates you think would be beneficial to see on your own Twitter timelines.
How to Search
To search on wefollow:
- Click in the "enter a tag" field at the top middle-right of the screen on the homepage.
- Type in whatever tag you wish without the spaces. For example, if I type in "internetmarketing", I am presented with a list of results for all the accounts which specialize in internet marketing services.
- Once you click on a listing, you are presented with a profile of that specific Twitter account. There, you can see the number of accounts this user follows, the number of accounts who follow this user, what other topics and industries in which user ranks, and a green button which allows you to instantly follow the user.
How to Get Listed
The reason we like wefollow is because it is super easy to list your own account on the site. Forget about reciprocal links or providing endless data; this Twitter directory is made to be completely user-friendly. Therefore, adding yourself to the directory only takes a moment.
To become listed on wefollow:
- On any page within the wefollow site, on the top of the page there will be a green button that reads "add yourself to wefollow".
- Just click that button and add your account username and password.
Don't worry, they won't post any random tweets and they won't spam you.
