Eat your heart out Adobe, we are going to go over editing like a Pro using Instagram.
The Features
We have all seen the hashtag #NoFilter. This is typically paired with a photo that looks too good to be real. Well, the filters are the least of our concerns with the new updates. You can now enhance many other aspects of your photo.
- You can adjust the color with warmth and saturation options
- Manage your lights and darks with brightness, contrast, highlights, and shadows
- The sharpen tool will make your photos crisp and clear
- Spice up your photography with the vignette tool
- Use Adjust to get the perfect angle and crop.
The Slide Bar & Double Tap
You now have control over how edited you would like your photos to appear. Auto-correct was just not cutting it anymore for Instagram.
The Slide Bar
This was originally a feature of the Lux option in Instagram. It is now an option for many of the editing tools. For example, you can determine your contrast by sliding the bar left or right. This gives the user more control than a simple "auto-contrast" button.
Double Tap
Double tapping works just like the slider, but it is for filters. You can determine the intensity of your filter by double tapping the screen. If one vintage filter isn't enough, just tap it twice!

Instagram may be gaining more attention from those who want to take stellar photos fast. More user control means more customization, and that is what we like. Grab your phones, update your app, and document your experience.
